  • Possession of a valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License is mandatory.

Constable (Laboratory Assistant)

  • Passing 10th grade with Science as a core subject from a Recognized Board or Institution.
  • A government-recognized institution given a certificate for the course of a Lab Assistant

Constable (Veterinary)

  • Passing 10th grade with Science as a core subject from a Recognized Board or Institution
  • Desirable: One year experience in the treatment of different species of animals, in a recognized Veterinary Hospital.

Constable (Ayah) Female Only

  • Passing 10th grade with Science as a core subject from a Recognized Board or Institution
  • Having a certificate from Red Cross Society in First Aid Examination
  • One year of experience in the relevant field.

Constable (Carpenter, Plumber and Painter)

  • Passing 10th grade with Science as a core subject from a Recognized Board or Institution
  • Work experience in respective trade for 2 years; or
  • One year certificate course from a recognized Industrial Training Institute (ITI) or Vocational Institute with at least one year experience in the respective trade; or
  • Passing two years of diploma in the respective trade or similar trade from a recognized Industrial Training Institute; and
  • Must qualify trade test

Constable (Tailor, Cobbler, Gardener, Cook, Washerman, Barber, Safaiwala, Water Carrier, Waiter)

  • Passing 10th grade from a Recognized Board or Institution
  • Work experience in respective trade for 2 years; or
  • One year certificate course from a recognized Industrial Training Institute (ITI) or Vocational Institute with at least one year experience in the respective trade; or
  • Passing two years of diploma in the respective trade or similar trade from a recognized Industrial Training Institute
  • Must qualify trade test

SSB Exam Pattern 2023

The SSB exam consists of the following stages:

  1. Physical Efficiency Test Stage (PET)
  2. Physical Standard Test Stage (PST)
  3. Written Exam – Common Entrance test (CET)
  4. Trade Test
  5. Documentation and Detailed Medical Examination (DME)
  6. Review Medical Examination (RME)

Trade Test And Document Verification

The points about trade tests and document verification are listed below.

  • Candidates who pass the written exam will also be eligible for the trade test and the document verification process.
  • When completing the application form, candidates must have the necessary documentation with them, along with copies that have been self-attested.
  • The minimal passing score for the trade test, which carries 50 points, is 60%.

Since the results of the trade exam will not be considered when creating the final merit list, it will be qualifying in nature.

  • Two years' Diploma from a recognized Industrial Training Institute in the respective trade or similar trade.
  • Must qualify for a trade test.

Head Constable (Mechanic) only for male

  • 10th from a recognized Board or equivalent.
  • Passed the Diploma in automobile or motor mechanical engineering or a two-year certificate course in automobile or motor mechanical engineering from a Government-recognized Industrial Training Institute (ITI) or equivalent.
  • Possess a valid Driving Licence for Heavy Vehicles.
  • Desirable: Two years of experience in an authorised garage or workshop.

HC (Steward)

  • 10th from a recognized Board or Institution.
  • Should have a Diploma or certificate in Catering Kitchen management from a reputed institute.
  • One year experience in a similar job in a reputed hotel.

Head Constable (Veterinary)

  • (Intermediate (10+2) examination passes with Science and Biology as the main subjects from a recognized Board/University.
  • Possess a two-year Diploma Course in Veterinary and Livestock Development or Veterinary Stock Assistant Course or Animal Husbandry Course from an institution recognized by the Central Government or State Government.
  • Desirable: One year of experience in the treatment of different species of animals in a recognized Veterinary Hospital.

Head Constable (Communication)

  • Intermediate or equivalent passed in Science with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from a recognized Board or University.
  • Should have a three-year diploma in Electronics or Communications or Computer Science or Information Technology from a recognized Institute.

Head Constable (ASI Steno)

  • 10+2 Intermediate Exam in Any Recognized Board in India.
  • Dictation 10 Min at 80 WPM
  • Transcription: 50 Min in English OR 65 Min in Hindi

Head Constable (Ministerial)
