SELECTION PROCEDURE FOR ASI(STENO) AND HC(MINISTERIAL) 

The selection shall be held in two phases as under:-

  • Written Examination.
  • Physical Measurement
  • Shorthand Test for ASI(Steno)
  • Typing Speed Test for HC(Min).

BSF Exam Pattern 2023

The BSF Head Constable Exam 2023 will consist of five subjects. The written examination for the BSF HC post is a 100 marks objective type test. In this examination, there will be 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), and each question will carry 1 mark. However, it is important to note that there will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.

To qualify for the next stage of the selection process, candidates must achieve the minimum qualifying marks. For unreserved category candidates, the minimum qualifying marks are 35%. On the other hand, OBC, SC, and ST candidates must secure a minimum of 33% to qualify for further stages of the examination.

ASI Stenographer

Shorthand @ 80 words per minute in English OR in Hindi in 10 minutes. Transcription of dictation in English in 50 minutes OR in Hindi in 65 minutes, on computer.

HC Min.

For HC(Min) (Typing Test) 35 words per minute in English or 30 words per minute in Hindi on the computer. (35 w.p.m in English and 30 w.p.m in Hindi correspond to 10500 KDPH in English and 9000 KDPH in Hindi respectively with an average of 5 key depressions for each word on the computer).
